A real gem in the heart of Nottingham! Visited for the first time this evening me and my partner, with it being often coming up on Google we thought we should give it a try. From the outside this unassuming restaurant would be easily missed by those passing by and to those people I would say unlucky you! The restaurant inside is a mix of traditional and homely setting with a nice pagoda entrance leading you to your table, upon arrival the waiting staff were super friendly and welcoming and lead us to our table. We ordered a vegetarian platter which was full of flavour and choice, for 13 we were spoilt with choice from delicious tender spring rolls, sweetcorn fritters, samosas and fried vegetables and golden parcels, each brimming with flavor and beautifully presented, all came with a delicious selection of dips to accompany. The main courses came soon after, a beef Penang curry and red chicken curry, both absolutely brimming with flavour and taste, the meat was tender and juicy and delightful from the start to the last mouthful, the coconut rice was also full of flavour and cooked perfectly. Our waitress was super friendly, there was a small error with a meat starter instead of veggie but they quickly remedied and gave us warmth and friendly warmth throughout our meal, for just shy of 50 in total it was incredible, we loved every part of it and left with a lovely feeling of our custom being rewarded, we mentioned it was our first time and they apologised with it being a Saturday and not the usual service but to us it was faultless! This place is honestly one of the best restaurants in the area by a mile! Very reasonably priced, great service, perfect food. Don't miss it! A small walk round the corner from the crowne plaza, if you're staying in Nottingham you need to go here! ***** Review! :) *Small note, the restaurant inside has a few stairs, which is a shame accessibility wise but I'm sure they will accommodate wherever they can.

Had heard good things about Chai Yo Thai so when craving a Pad Thai recently we decided to give it a go. What a brilliant decision. We each had the Saturday lunch deal and went for a honey and lemon tea each to go with it. The tea was delicious and sweet and the food was equally as good. My satay skewer starters were tender and beautifully charred and the sauce was fantastic. The Pad Thai main was equally as good. Portion sizes were very good too and the service was excellent. Now we've tried Chai Yo Thai we'll definitely be back again rather than going to the larger chain restaurants - the food and value is so much better.

Lovely food, lovely services and lovely atmosphere! Foods are delicious and valuable. The spiciness is definitely authentic (not the western spiciness), so be careful. The Thai green curry we ordered was placed under a candle to keep warm. Staff are friendly and professional, but no service fee is charged! Strongly recommended the fried rice and fried noodles

Very nice quiet place, beautiful interiors. The lunch menu was brilliant and such good value, 2 courses for only 10 pounds. Very good service as well. We have been here twice now and definitely will go again.

The restaurant is clean and atmosphere is nice. They were able to offer us halal chicken and beef, and also made sure that they use fresh oil for all the food we ordered and prepared every thing from scratch once our order was placed. It was a lovely experience dinning in there! Will definitely recommend.

What a delightful place! Amazing food, outstanding service, good price. First visit in this family run Thai restaurant on Friday evening 29/11/24. We shared the veggie starter platter & it was crispy, light & tasty with 3 dips & prettily presented with carved veg. Then I had red chicken curry with plain rice, the Sweet Basil was not to my taste & the lovely waiter (son of the chef) said I could ask for it to be omitted next time. The chicken was very tender. My companion had a beef stir-fry with Spring onions & cashews, the beef was caramelised & like 'burnt ends' if you know what I mean-delicious, with egg fried rice. A rice portion is probably enough to share. We went for the full experience & chose coconut pancakes & banana fritters for pud-super sweet & s/w vanilla ice cream. Will definitely go again & try out something different on the very good value lunchtime menu. Thank-you.

We hadn't booked so popped in as soon as they opened and were thrilled to get a table. The atmosphere and service and banquet we shared between two of us were all great. It made it a much more enjoyable and memorable experience than visiting a bland chain restaurant. Whilst it soon got busy we were not rushed and were able to order extra drinks as we required them. Fantastic! Plus a great price. Thank you. I'd already eaten part of the starter before taking the picture below - I just couldn't resist. It was all great.
